Retaining Walls

When building a retaining wall, uniformity is a key component. With this type of landscaping device, you can increase the area in your sloped yard for adding a pool, play area, patio or anything else you want to build.

Begin by digging a trench about eight inches deep and slightly wider than the width of the stones you are using for the wall. The EZXcavator™ is available in three convenient sizes - 10 and 16 inches. It can also dig as deep as 20 inches to make your trench-digging hassle-free. Make sure the bottom of the trench is even so your stones will sit flat and they will be level. Once the bottom of the trench is flat and level, add a layer of stone dust or sand and stomp it gently into the trench bottom. From there, you can begin adding the first layer of stones (which will be below ground) and build up the retaining wall from there.
